Yogi Adityanath Receives first dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in Lucknow on Monday. Adityanath was hit at the Civil Hospital. Speaking to the ANI news agency after the vaccination, Adityanath appealed to people to take all precautions even after receiving the vaccine.

“The new wave of COVID is the result of our complacency in observing appropriate COVID behavior,” he said.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Ministry of Health for making the vaccine available for free. “I also thank the scientists in the country. The vaccine is completely safe. We should all take it when our turn comes,” said the Chief Minister.

Earlier on Sunday, the number of deaths linked to Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh rose to 8,881 with 31 more deaths in the state, while 4,164 new cases brought the infection count to 6,30,059. Following the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government issued a new set of guidelines for monitoring infected patients and their contacts.

A total of 6,01,440 COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered from the disease so far, while there are 19,738 active cases in the state.
