Yogi Adityanath will meet PM Modi today to discuss UP cabinet 2.0.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to visit Delhi on Sunday (March 13, 2022) to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the UP cabinet 2.0, just days after retaining power for the second straight term.

The timing of the swearing-in ceremony will almost certainly be considered at the meeting.

According to ANI, the meeting would be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), National President JP Nadda, and National General Secretary BL Santosh.

Adityanath will be accompanied by UP BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh, Minister Sunil Bansal, and the state in-charge Radha Mohan Singh during his two-day visit to the national capital.

According to sources, the BJP is considering several new faces for Yogi’s cabinet, including a new Deputy Chief Minister. It’s also been suggested that the BJP leadership has compiled a preliminary list of potential Deputy Chief Ministers and Ministers based on qualifications, caste, and regional factors.

COVID NEWS: India reported 3,116 new Covid-19 cases 47 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Swatantra Dev Singh, Baby Rani Maurya, Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Brijesh Pathak are all candidates for the position of Deputy Chief Minister.

Swatantra Dev Singh, a Kurmi leader who has also served as the state Transport Minister, is one of the key figures behind the BJP’s massive victory in Uttar Pradesh.

Baby Rani Maurya is also a front-runner, having served as Governor of Uttarakhand and is a well-known figure in Uttar Pradesh’s Jatav community.

Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was defeated in the elections for the Sirathu seat, is the party’s OBC face and could be re-elected as Deputy Chief Minister.

To maintain the Brahmin equation, Law Minister Brijesh Pathak, who won the Lucknow Cantonment seat, may be appointed Deputy Chief Minister in the Yogi cabinet.

Meanwhile, rumors abound that in Yogi Sarkar 2.0, the senior leadership includes Rajeshwar Singh and Asim Arun, two former police officers, in the new cabinet.

Aseem Arun, an officer of ADG and the first police commissioner of Kanpur, won from the Kannauj (Sadar) seat.

In contrast, Rajeshwar Singh, an official of the Uttar Pradesh Police, won from the Sarojini Nagar seat in Lucknow.

Pankaj Singh, the BJP’s nominee for the Noida Assembly seat and the son of Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, who won by 1,81,513 votes, could join Yogi’s cabinet.
