2 Women faced serious injuries after a skydiving crash.
Authorities say two people were seriously injured while skydiving in Wisconsin on Sunday. Around 1:40 p.m., emergency responders were summoned to Skydive Midwest, a skydiving facility in the hamlet of Yorkville, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, a 28-year-old lady from Racine and a 49-year-old woman from Chicago was tandem skydiving.
Their parachute opened but lost control and landed approximately 20 or 30 feet from the earth.

According to the sheriff’s office, both ladies “received life-threatening injuries” and were evacuated to nearby trauma hospitals.
According to the website of Skydive Midwest, tandem skydiving involves a participant and an instructor jumping out of an aircraft together.
As they approach the ground, they may reach at least 120 mph speeds.
Two witnesses told WDJT-TV that they often visit the area to observe skydivers but had never seen anything like this.
“The wind snatched them, took their parachute and flipped it over, and their corpses just came crashing down,” Dawn Osinski said. “It was a thump as they struck the ground.”
