A strong explosion damaged a hotel in the capital of Cuba. 

According to government media, a massive explosion damaged a hotel in the Cuban capital on Friday. 

The Cuban news agency ACN shared photographs of the Hotel Saratoga in Havana being severely damaged and dust clouds pouring into the sky.

It was unclear whether there were any fatalities or injuries. The hotel building emitting smoke and flames in videos published on Twitter.

Granma, the official newspaper of the Cuban Communist Party, published photos of the multistory Hotel Saratoga, whose walls appeared to have been torn out by the blast that went up several stories.

Police and firefighters rushed to the site, cordoning off major locations and buildings, including the historic Capitolio.
