Christian Eriksen will be returning to the Danish team later in the month for the first time after suffering from a heart arrest on the pitch at Euro 2020 last June, Denmark’s soccer association announced Tuesday.
The 30-year-old, fitted with an implantable cardiac defibrillator, was selected for Denmark’s friendly matches with the Netherlands that will take place on the 26th of March Amsterdam and in the game against Serbia the following day in Copenhagen, the association said.
Eriksen returned to the club in March with English Premier League side Brentford.
A cardiac attack struck the Dane during Denmark’s first European Championships against Finland in Copenhagen on the 12th of June.

He was resurrected on the field, and he lay in a state of unconsciousness for several minutes while the shocked crowd and the millions of TV viewers across the globe were watching in shock.
Eriksen was admitted to the hospital, where he had a pacemaker implanted to control his heartbeat.
“He’s healthy and fit. I’ve followed him closely. I recently went to London to meet him and assess his performance. I watched him during practice as well as during a game, and physically, he’s exceptionally well-developed, “Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand said to reporters.
“There are always things which can be improved upon; it’s normal; however, the player is playing at a top standard,” He added.
Eriksen was released from his contract at Inter Milan by mutual consent in December. Italian league rules prohibit players with pacemakers, which is contrary to the Premier League.
In his entire career, he’s been a part of 109 matches and has scored 36 goals in the Danish team, which is currently preparing for 2022’s World Cup in Qatar.
