According to authorities, Amarnath Yatra has been postponed owing to inclement weather, days after the annual pilgrimage resumed after a two-year hiatus.
They added that from the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam, the pilgrims would not be permitted to go towards the cave shrine containing the naturally sculpted ice-Shivling.
The two base camps—Nunwan camp in Pahalgam, Anantnag district, and Baltal camp in Ganderbal district—were where the yatra to the holy cave had started.
Last Thursday, the first group of pilgrims arrived at the Pahalgam base camp.
Before starting on June 30, the coronavirus delayed the trip for two years. Since then, the site has received more than 72,000 pilgrims who have prayed there.
