Another person died of Black Fungus in Kolkata at Calcutta Medical College. 

Black Fungus is the new threat for the state along with the country. Another one died of black fungus in West Bengal. Incidentally, a 60-year-old woman died of black fungus at Calcutta Medical College on Tuesday. Statistics show that the total number of victims in the state is 25, with four dead.

According to hospital sources, the old woman had already contracted Corona Virus. At that time, the doctor gave her steroids. After released from Corona, she contracted black fungus disease and admitted to the hospital. Later she died there. The hospital authority did not want to say anything about the patient’s death due to the attack of black fungus.

After Corona was released, her face became useless. In the last month, six such patients have come to Kolkata Medical. Later found that black fungus infected all of them. On the other hand, at Nilratan Sarkar Medical College, another three patients were admitted due to black fungus.

According to hospital sources, the doctor removed one of the eyes entirely. Because most cases, people are infecting with black fungus in the eyes. The use of uncontrolled steroids in covid treatment boosts the body’s immune system. At that opportunity, the black fungus enters the human body with dust while breathing. 

However, this fungus is not contagious. It does not transfer from one person to another. Doctors said that the symptoms of black fungus in the eyes could damage the whole eye permanently.

  • Nasal congestion
  • black pus coming out of the nose
  • pain in the jaw
  • pain in one side of the mouth
  • numbness
  • swelling
