Arsenal strikes a blow to injury-stricken Man City to go top of the Women’s Super League.
Kim Little scored twice for Arsenal in their 5-0 win over an injured Manchester City 5-0 on Sunday by playing a classic counter-attack in their bid to reach the summit of the Women’s Super League (WSL).
With City lacking several crucial players, Vivianne Miedema struck in the 10th minute of the game after an offensive incident with City defense Alanna Kennedy and goalie Karima Taieb.

The resulting mix-up allowed Beth Mead to tee up the Dutch striker who struck into the top corner.
Little scored a 2-0 goal Thirteen minutes later, having the advantage over three City defensemen before launching a rocket into the upper corner, which Taieb managed to get a hold of but couldn’t stop it.
Even though City had the upper hand in possession, they were unable to score.
Katie McCabe added a third for Arsenal at the hour mark before Little struck in a penalty.
Leah Williamson added a header in the closing minutes to seal a 5-0 win. It saw them top of the table with nine points following three matches and in front of Tottenham Hotspur on goal difference.
