Chechen chief Kadyrov says Russian forces will take Kyiv soon.
Ramzan Kadyrov, the influential leader of Russia’s Chechen Republic, vowed early Monday that Russian soldiers would launch an onslaught against the beleaguered port of Mariupol but also against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
In a video uploaded on his Telegram channel, Kadyrov said, “There will be an offensive on Mariupol and other regions, cities, and villages.”
“First and foremost, we will entirely liberate Luhansk and Donetsk… and then we will seize Kyiv and all other cities.”
According to Kadyrov, there should be no uncertainty about Kyiv, who has frequently portrayed himself as Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “foot soldier.”

“I tell you that not a single step will be reversed,” Kadyrov stated.
The US and the European Union have repeatedly accused Kadyrov of human rights violations, which he denies.
Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, Moscow waged two wars with separatists in Chechnya, a predominantly Muslim territory in southern Russia.
However, it has now spent considerable sums of money on reconstructing the region and granting Kadyrov significant authority.
Russia upped its attacks in eastern Ukraine on Sunday, describing its activities in Ukraine as a “special operation” to demilitarise and “denazify” its neighbor.
