Congress leader Salman Khurshid said Wednesday that the government should clarify what the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) is so that people can understand it.
“Tell them what the Uniform Civil Code is so that they can explain it to them It says in the Constitution that there will be an effort to apply a uniform civil code, but it doesn’t say what that means or what will happen. The government has never said that it will follow the Hindu code when it talks about the UCC. Islam, Christianity, or any other religion can use the best practices from any religion, even if it isn’t the best religion to follow. They need to tell us what UCC is so that we can act “A man named Khurshid said this to ANI.

People in Congress aren’t sure how the government works. They say that it discriminates against people in society and that UCC could be treated the same way.
Mr Khurshid, on the other hand, defended the Gandhi family when he was asked about the Congress party and its future. He said that the Gandhi family was essential to the party and its future.
“In the present, no one knows what the future will be like. But we can all agree that the Congress party’s long-term stability depends on our faith in the Gandhi family. As we say now, the Gandhi family is very important to Congress and what it will do in the future, “Mr Khurshid noted.

On Monday, Jai Ram Thakur, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, said that the state is looking into whether or not to use the UCC.
There was also a statement from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Tuesday that called the Uniform Civil Code an “unconstitutional and anti-minorities move” and said that the rhetoric for bringing it in was an attempt to keep people from paying attention to things like rising prices and joblessness.
AIMPLB asked the government not to do the Uniform Civil Code.
The Uniform Civil Code is a plan in India to make and put into place personal laws that apply to all citizens, no matter what their religion, sex, gender, or sexual orientation is. Currently, the personal laws of different groups are based on their religious texts.
The code comes from Article 44 of the Constitution, which says that the state should try to get a Uniform Civil Code for everyone in India.
In the BJP’s 2019 Lok Sabha manifesto, the party says it will make UCC happen if it wins.
