The Center has announced the distribution of free booster doses for all eligible people in India as the possibility of a fourth Covid-19 wave increases with consistently growing daily infections.
All adults will have access to the other Covid dosages starting Friday (July 15). Only 75 days from now, all adults can get the dosages without paying a penny.
Beginning on July 15, the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi will undertake a 75-day free vaccination campaign during which all people over 18 will get free immunization doses at government facilities.

Eligibility For The COVID Booster Vaccine
All recipients who are 18 years of age or older will be eligible for booster dosages, according to the Union Health Ministry’s official notification. A 75-day special campaign will provide free prophylactic doses of the Covid vaccine to people in the 18- to 59-year-old age range at government immunization facilities.
How to register for the COVID booster shot?
- Go to the Cowin tab on cowin.gov.in or the Aarogya Setu app, then choose the vaccine tab.
- Use the cellphone number registered for your prior vaccinations to log in. then key in your OTP. On the Cowin site, only a maximum of four users may register with the same cellphone number.
- Those who haven’t had their first two doses of vaccination must first register to get them.
- The system will display the Precaution Dose slots in the Appointments Module for those who are completely immunized and qualify.
- Select appointments after tapping the “Precaution dosage” option.
- Tap or click Book appointment after selecting the appointment depending on your location, Pincode, etc. The appointment has to be verified, and the app may download the information.
