BJP national secretary CT Ravi on Friday (April 1st, 2022), declared his faith in his party. He also said that BJP could win more than 150 state Assembly elections in the coming year.
The announcement was made following the core committee meeting with Union home minister Amit Shah, who took a two-day trip to Karnataka. After this meeting, Shah, CT Ravi said that Shah had directed the party’s leaders to create an annual plan and work on the ground to secure more than 150 seats during the upcoming elections.

“We discussed the political situation today. After winning polls in four states, the atmosphere is in favour of BJP. Congress is scared because of this. A self-confidence was presented in the meeting that if we work on the ground level, we can win more than 150 seats. Amit Shah has instructed us to prepare a roadmap for one year,” CT Ravi said. In a press conference, In an interview with the media, The BJP general secretary added that the BJP would announce the names of those willing to be part of the BJP following instructions from the party’s president.
“We will work on the ground and also we will finalise the people after getting the instructions from the party president, who are ready to join the party from the other parties,” the president said.
He denied speculations regarding the discussions on the expansion of the cabinet and the transition of leadership ahead of crucial elections, saying”that “no such question arises.”
“We are ready for the elections. There were no discussions on the cabinet expansion. Change of leadership was also not discussed. No such question arises,” Ravi stated.
In the past day, the top BJP sources stated that the party will not give in to pressure and is not contemplating any leadership change in the run-up to the crucial election.
“There is no question of change of leadership in the state… The president (Nalin Kateel) has been given a term and he will definitely complete that,” according to sources.
In the discussions that are taking place in the round on the possibility of a shift in the Chief Minister, a source stated that there would be no change in the Chief Minister in the event of pressure.
“This is BJP and not any other party and we do not change any Chief Minister under pressure… Bommai is a very experienced politician and a capable Chief Minister,” said the source.
