Devastating Fire persists at a godown in Kolkata after 12 hours.
On Saturday evening, March 12, 2022, a massive fire broke out at a godown in Kolkata’s Mehr Ali Lane in the Tangra neighborhood.
Because there were some highly flammable components in the godown, the fire “was not extinguished even after 10 hours,” according to a fire department spokesman.
Divisional Fire Officer Debtanu Ghosh stated, “Because there are some very combustible materials in the godown and we are unable to enter. As a result, the fire has not been entirely doused even after 10 hours. During the dousing operation, two firefighters were hurt.”

According to officials, when the fire broke out in the tannery at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, about 15 fire engines were on the scene to put out the flames.
The cause of the fire remained unknown at the time.
