Devendra Fadnavis’ Aurangzeb Jab at Asaduddin Owaisi

Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra Leader of Opposition, likened the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) administration to a Babri-like edifice and vowed he would not rest till it was demolished.

Mr. Fadnavis warned, “I will not rest till I bring down the Babri-like system of your authority.”

At the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mahasankalp Sabha in Mumbai, he and other BJP activists sang Hanuman Chalisa.

“We just finished reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. Would Balasaheb Thackeray have imagined that reading the Hanuman Chalisa during his son’s rule would be treasonous and that visiting Aurangzeb’s tomb would be proper state protocol?” Mr. Fadnavis said.

“They (Shiv Sena) had a gathering yesterday that they termed a master sabha, but it was more like a laughing sabha as we listened to them… Mr. Fadnavis continued, “It was Kaurava sabha yesterday and Pandav sabha today,” portraying Uddhav Thackeray’s gathering as a “laughter show.”. ”

In a verbal assault on Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), he remarked, “If you keep witnessing Asaduddin Owaisi paying respect to Aurangzeb on his tomb, you should be ashamed of yourself. Listen to me, Owaisi: even a dog would not urinate on Aurangzeb’s identity. In Hindustan, saffron shall reign supreme.”

The state’s political environment has been sparked by a dispute over Hanuman Chalisa and Azaan.

After declaring that they would recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Uddhav Thackeray’s residence in Bandra, Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana were detained by Mumbai police and booked under Sections 124A (sedition) and 153A (promoting hatred between different communities) of the Indian Penal Code.

Following the Hanuman Chalisa controversy, the BJP has come out in favor of the Ranas.

The loudspeakers controversy began when MNS head Raj Thackeray gave the Maharashtra government until May 3 to remove loudspeakers from mosques, failing to ensure that MNS activists would play Hanuman Chalisa over loudspeakers, he said.
