Fabio Vieira Porto midfielder is set to join Arsenal

Fabio Vieira, a Portuguese midfielder, will join Arsenal from Porto for 35 million euros (USD 37 million) after both sides agreed in principle, the selling side said on Friday. The 22-year-old, crowned player of the Under-21 European Championships last year despite Portugal’s loss in the final to Germany, may cost Arsenal up to 40 million euros if he meets specific goals.

According to Porto’s stock exchange announcement, he will sign a five-year deal with Arsenal.

Vieira was a significant figure in Porto’s domestic double-winning season, scoring seven goals and assisting on 16 others.
