Facebook, Twitter, Instagram will ban in India from the 26th?

Social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram will be shut down in India from May 26? Due to a notice issued by the Center, this is now a question of lakhs of rupees. The Center issued a set of guidelines on February 25 to draw a rush on social media.

Earlier, the Indian Government directed to implement the guidelines within three months. That deadline will expire on May 27. But so far,
none of these social media organizations submit any reply yet.

Only Indian social media company ‘Koo’ is not of this restriction.

The Center has formulated this guideline to prevent misuse of social media. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad clarified that we would take action against social media companies if they did not comply with the guidelines.

The guidelines issued on February 25 to rush the social media content say that a three-tier control system will introduce for the OTT platform. Union Ministers Prakash Javadekar and Ravi Shankar Prasad held a press conference. They discussed the new guidelines for social media and OTT platforms.

They said, ‘Offensive language is being used arbitrarily on social media. But from now on, the Government will not allow objectionable content through social media. Note that only Koo has taken urgent action in compliance with this guideline.

Take a look at some of the topics covered in this new center guide –

  • From now on, there will be a grievance redressal process for each platform.
  • Each platform will have a Chief Officer, and that officer must be a resident of India.
  • An admin needs to be appointed to communicate on each platform. He will continue to coordinate with law enforcement.
  • Each OTT platform has to submit a consent report every month. How many complaints are lodging and action taken, based on them – it must highlight all these details in the report.
