Fire at BLK 204 Bedok north street 1: 4 People hospitalized. 

SINGAPORE, Telok Blangah Fire: The blaze was reported in three distinct housing blocks in the public sector late on Thursday (Jan 28) evening. 

Three people were hospitalized due to the Telok Blangah fire.

In just an hour, the firefighters fought the blazes at Block 941 Tampines Avenue 5, Block 204 Bedok North Street 1. 

Block 39 Telok Blangah Rise, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), posted via its official Facebook account.

During the operation, firefighters saved two unconscious victims, one man from Tampines and a female in Telok Blangah.

The fires are being put out, and the authorities look into what led to them.

Telok Blangah Fire

Around 10.30 pm on Friday, SCDF was alerted of the raging fire in Tampines.

“Upon SCDF’s arrival, the fire was raging and had engulfed a two-story unit on the 10th floor,” the report said.

Firefighters broke into the building and were forced to gain access to one of the bedrooms on the first floor of the apartment. Then, they helped the man lying in a state of unconsciousness on the ground.

After being removed from the burning area, an ambulance crew assessed the patient’s condition and then took the patient to Changi General Hospital in Simei.

The fire affected all the belongings of the building. Around 180 residents from close-by flats had to be evacuated to avoid danger.

BLOCK 204 BEDOK NORTH ST 1

In Bedok In Bedok, a fire destroyed an eatery in the basement of the building. In addition, a kitchen exhaust pipe that runs along the back of the building was lit up.

Firefighters alerted to the fire at 11.50 pm on Friday immediately started to put out the flame using water jets. They then pushed into the cafe to continue their firefighting efforts.

The fire was put out within about a time of an SCDF said. Damping-down activities which involve applying water to burnt areas that are wet after a fire has been extinguished to stop the possibility of rekindling are in progress.

There were no injuries reported. Around 55 people living in the units below the café were evacuated.

BLOCK 39 TELOK BLANGAH RISE

At 4.40 am on a Saturday, SCDF was alerted of an incident at Telok Blangah.

The “raging” fire had engulfed an apartment on the 10th floor.

Firefighters donned breathing equipment sets and were escorted into the unit that was smoldering to put out the flame, which affected all of the contents of the team.

A housing unit was located just above the apartment, which was burning. The firefighters discovered an unconscious woman lying on the floor.

She was removed from the unit and transferred to an elevator lobby. SCDF personnel administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation to her. 

The patient was then taken to Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in Outram.

Another patient was transported to SGH for inhalation of smoke. A total of 300 people had to be evacuated for safety reasons.
