Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted: Getting Bound Presence
- Farm 500 Vestiges from Dread.
- It is straightforward to grind Vestiges of Dread since they drop from many activities in Destiny 2. They can be found in chests, on patrol completion on Derelict Leviathans, killing Nightmares, or completing playlist activities.
- Wait for the Nightmare Containment public events to spawn.
- The next step is to go to the Derelict Leviathan and then wait for the Nightmare Containment to spawn. To check if the item has appeared on your map, you can use the Director.
- Complete Nightmare Containment and then Bind the Nightmares.
- After clearing the public event, you will be able to Bind the Nightmares if you have 500 Vestiges Of Dread. You will be rewarded with one Bound Presence per week.
You are only guaranteed one Bound Presence per week when Binding the Nightmares is completed. After that, you can farm Vestiges and Dread, but your drops will be random.
If you want to increase your Bound Presence count in Destiny 2, you will likely need to farm for a long time each week.
What can you do with bound presence?
You must have the Bound Presence for Season of the Haunted to progress through the weekly Sever missions. This week’s Sever mission, Shame, entails you exploring the Underbelly of Derelict Leviathan.
Once you have completed the mission, a chest will appear. You can only open it by using a Bound Presence. The chest will give you Season of the Haunted weapons and Opulent Umbral Energy.
This is another resource you’ll need in the game. This Season’s core element, Vestiges of Dread/Bound Presence, is what you will be farming most of the time to complete the Nightmare Contained public event.
