Glamorgan Ready to Sign Indian Batter Shubman Gill for Season's End

The 22-year-old Gill has played in 9 one-day internationals and 11 tests, including one against England in July.

Glamorgan is awaiting the approval of Gill’s visa so that he may replace Marnus Labuschagne and Colin Ingram, two international hitters who are suspended in September.

Ajaz Patel, a New Zealand spinner, has also been hired to take Michael Neser’s position.

The domestic cricketer Gill, who represents Punjab, averages 53 in all first-class games but only 30 in Test matches.

In a recent one-day international against Zimbabwe, he scored 130 to score his first century for his nation.

In the Indian Premier League of 2022, Gill represents Gujarat Titans after playing for Kolkata Knight Riders.

While vying for promotion to Division One of the Championship, Glamorgan plays away games against Middlesex and Sussex and at home against Worcestershire and Derbyshire.

With a game remaining, they trail Middlesex, who is in the second position, by five points.
