Goa Congress sacks Michael Lobo as leader of Opposition in Assembly

Michael Lobo was ousted by Congress as the Leader of the Opposition in the Goa Assembly on Sunday, July 10, 2022, for attempting to organize a party defection.

In a news conference, AICC observer Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the BJP and some of its leaders had devised a “plot” to undermine the organization. “Some of our own leaders conspired with the BJP to undermine the Goa branch of the Congress party and to encourage defections. Two of our own leaders, Michael Lobo and Digambar Kamat, were the masterminds of this plan “explained Dinesh Gundu Rao.

“These two individuals have been cooperating fully with the BJP. Digambar Kamat did it to protect his personal reputation since he is the subject of several legal proceedings, and Michael Lobo did it for reasons of prestige and authority. The BJP wants to defeat the opposition “Added he.

In charge of Congress in Goa According to Dinesh Gundu Rao, the BJP is attempting a two-to-three split to force at least eight Congress MLAs out of the party.

“Huge sums of money have been promised to several of our members. The sum given astounded me. But our six MLAs remained steadfast, and for that, I’m proud,” he remarked.

Neither discouraged nor weakened, the Congress party will not be. We shall approach this problem more forcefully. Rao said this betrayal, which two persons are planning for the sake of power and individual benefit, will be brought to the public’s attention.
