From Wednesday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will start a state-wide campaign seeking free power for Gujarat residents, according to a party leader.
If elected to power in the forthcoming Assembly elections, the party has pledged free energy across Gujarat and Delhi.
“Gujarat’s AAP will host district-level news conferences on June 15. Following that, party members would travel to collector offices and make public demands for accessible power, “Gopal Italia, the head of the party’s state unit, stated Tuesday.
He said that rallies, pad-yatra (protest marches), and Mashal yatra (torch processions) would be held between June 16 and 24.
This will be the party’s first major campaign after reorganizing its state organization and installing new office-bearers. The Arvind Kejriwal-led group claims to be the state’s principal opposition to the governing BJP.
Mr. Italia also said the party would release a new roster of office-bearers shortly.
