The head of the Congress’ election campaign in Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat, asked his party to kick him out because he’s been accused of selling party tickets and giving jobs in the new government for money.
He didn’t say who said these things, but Mr Rawat said that people with important positions in the party had made them.

It’s very bad when someone who has been a Chief Minister, a regional party leader, a party general secretary, and a member of the Congress Working Committee is accused of selling tickets and posts.
This is what Mr Rawat said about those who have said these things. He lost the recent assembly elections in Uttarakhand from the seat of Lalkuwa.
He said that it’s being spread by supporters of someone on a “very important post.” as he said, some of the people making these claims are also important people in the party.
Because of this, he said, “I hope that the Congress will send me home.”
For the Hindu festival Holi, he said it’s a good time to get rid of bad things and “evil like Harish Rawat” should also be burned during the Holika Dahan fire.
Holika Dahan is a ritual that takes place before people celebrate Holi. A pyre is set on fire to show that good has won over bad.
The Congress, led by Mr Rawat in the hill state, won just 19 seats out of 70 assembly seats, compared to the BJP’s 47.
Political observers blamed the loss on the party’s factionalism and other things.
Mr Rawat said on Sunday that he was ashamed and angry that he couldn’t lead the party to victory in the state assembly election.
The party’s leaders had put their trust in him, but he couldn’t live up to their expectations.
Hours before he left for Delhi, Mr Rawat said he didn’t know how he would deal with party leader Sonia Gandhi in person.
How much faith she had in me. Many people thought I would bring Congress back to power.
They all thought I was so good. Because I didn’t meet their expectations, I must have done something wrong.
The former Chief Minister, who is now 73, said this.
