Huge Landslide Blocked Bengal and Sikkim National Highway No. 10.
Continuous rains in North Bengal caused Landslide on National Highway 10 again. Meantime, the local authority has not reported any casualties yet.
However, due to the Landslide, Bangla-Sikkim communication was cut off by road. Landslide repair work is going on during the war.
A landslide occurred on National Highway No. 10 (NH-10) near 29 miles a few days ago. As a result, Darjeeling and Sikkim became isolated. As a result of continuous rain, the mountain seems to be collapsing.
Earlier, during the Sebak-Rangpo rail project, a landslide occurred in Mamkhola. At that time, five workers went missing, and one worker also died.
The aftermath of that incident collapsed again. On Wednesday night, Sebak collapsed again on National Highway No. 10 near Bagpul.
As a result, it blocks the West Bengal and Sikkim connection road. Road cleaning work is going on during the war. However, there are no reports of casualties.
Meanwhile, according to the Alipore Meteorological Department’s forecast, North Bengalis are not exempt from rain. Heavy rains are forecast in Alipurduar and Kochbihar on Thursday. Heavy rains are likely in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Jalpaiguri.
As per the weather department, heavy rains will continue in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Kochbihar in the next few days. Chance of moderate rain with a thunderstorm in Malda, North and South Dinajpur.
There is a possibility of rain in North Bengal as well as in the districts of South Bengal. The sky over Kolkata will be partly cloudy throughout the day on Thursday.
Besides, there will be light to moderate rain with thunderstorms. Tilottama fried in the rain on Wednesday evening. The temperature will drop a bit during the rains.
However, due to the high water vapor in the air, the humidity will remain uncomfortable. Like Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas, East Midnapore and Nadia may also get wet.
