According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India’s total number of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,29,05,844 on Saturday, and the number of active instances dropped even more to 1,21,881.
To put it another way, the number of virus-related deaths rose to 5,13,481 with 255 daily deaths, according to data that was updated at 8 am.
There were less than one million COVID-19 cases in the country for the 20th straight day.
The health ministry said that infections that are still active make up 0.28 percent of all infections.

The COVID-19 recovery rate in the country has also gone up to 98.52 percent, the ministry said.
The active COVID-19 caseload has dropped by 12,354 in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was 1.01 percent, and the weekly positivity rate was 1.36 percent, the health ministry said in a report.
4,22,70,482 people were able to get their money back. Only 1.20 percent of the people who lost their money died.
The total number of doses given in the country as part of the COVID-19 vaccination drive has reached 177.13 million.
India’s COVID-19 tally reached 20 lakh on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16.
This year, India’s tally reached 50 lakh on September 16.
On May 4, India reached two million people. On June 23, it reached three million people.
It passed 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one-hundred-thousand on December 19.
Kerala and Karnataka are among the 255 people who died in the new accidents.
Five million people have died in India so far, including 1,43,687 people from Maharashtra, 64,980 people from Kerala, and 39,900 other people in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
There have also been 26,117 people who have died in Delhi, 23,447 people in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,169 people in West Bengal so far.
The health ministry said that more than 70% of the people who died had many other problems, which is why they died.
The Indian Ministry of Health said on its website that “our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research.”
The ministry added that the state-by-state distribution of the figures needs to be checked and reconciled.
