Five people arrested in connection with the April 16 violence in Jahangirpuri, Delhi, were charged with violating the National Security Act (NSA). The Delhi Police also arrested two more people, including a man accused of giving a pistol to one of the suspects.
A PTI report says that the NSA has charged Ansar, the alleged “main conspirator,” and Sonu, who was seen in a video firing during the clashes. The other three are Salim, Dilshad, and Ahir, who are all charged with crimes under the NSA for their alleged roles in the violence, police say.

Meanwhile, many police are stationed in the area of Jahangirpuri to keep the city safe. Today and on the 21st, an encroachment drive is taking place in the area. The MCD has asked for 400 police officers from the Delhi Police to keep law and order.
