V P Joy, the Chief Secretary of Kerala, said Thursday that the Gujarat government’s “CM dashboard” system is an excellent way to keep an eye on how public services are being delivered.
He also went to the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, a command and control center in this city that monitors the performance of some 55,000 schools in this area.
People in Kerala aren’t happy about an official delegation from the state of Kerala going to the state of Gujarat, which the BJP runs.
The CM dashboard, which is a big screen that shows real-time data, has been set up at the official residence of the chief minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel.

The Kerala chief secretary came to the state to learn how the Gujarat government runs a good business.
According to a statement from the Gujarat government, joy and his delegation went to the chief minister’s house to see how the dashboard monitoring system worked. About three hours passed.
This was a “first of its kind” idea, and Kerala’s chief secretary said that the system of getting feedback directly from people who use government services adds a new dimension to good governance.
According to the release, Joy said, “We have come here to learn about this CM dashboard initiative because Prime Minister Modi once said that we should see this system used by the Gujarat government to keep track of service delivery.”
The dashboard lets the chief minister keep an eye on state transportation, street lights, and drinking water in any part of the state.
The system can get data from all e-governance apps.
Now and then, the chief minister’s office can get involved by making a call to local officials down to the village level, the release said.
When the coronavirus pandemic hit its peak in 2021, the CMO could see how many hospital beds were available, how much oxygen was available, and how many medicines were available, says the report.
In another release, the delegation went to Vidya Samiksha Kendra, or the Command and Control Center for Schools in Gandhinagar.
It said that the Gujarat government agreed to help Joy set up a similar center in Kerala because she was “really interested.” The delegation spent nearly an hour in the center and spoke with teachers on a video wall system.
On April 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the center.
The center collects data from 55,000 government schools every year and analyzes it.
Opposition parties in the southern state have slammed state officials for going to Gujarat in the north.
K Sudhakaran, the head of the Kerala Congress Party, asked on Wednesday if the CPI(M)-led government was planning to follow the model used in the state of Gujarat.
He said that the visit should be seen as part of the growth of the relationship between the BJP and the CPI(M).
