Lalu Yadav's wife Rabri Devi Slaps Supporter Heckling CBI officers

During their protest against CBI officials raiding the Yadavs’ Patna residence yesterday, Rabri Devi, former Bihar Chief Minister and wife of RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, screamed at party members and even hit a supporter.

The RJD workers were protesting the central agency’s searches of 15 places, including the Yadavs’ Patna home, in connection with a corruption probe.

When Mr Yadav was Railways Minister from 2004 to 2009, the CBI accused him, Rabri Devi, and other family members of receiving land in return for employment.

Rabri Devi, accompanied by her oldest son Tej Pratap Yadav, is seen on film approaching RJD members who obstruct CBI officials’ departure and requesting them to clear the way. She slaps the protesting party workers a few times and orders them to leave the cops alone.

RJD activists began demonstrating outside the Yadavs’ Patna house after the searches started yesterday morning, accusing the BJP of deploying government agencies for revenge politics.

Rabri Devi was interrogated for nearly 12 hours, and strong security was outside her house to maintain control. Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Mr Yadav’s younger son and a key RJD leader, was also in Delhi.

The RJD said CBI personnel acted inappropriately with the previous chief minister and used unparliamentary language.

When CBI officials left the Yadavs’ house following the searches, RJD activists blocked their route and began shouting anti-government and anti-BJP chants.

As police officials tried to maintain control, Rabri Devi walked out, joined by her son Tej Pratap and other party leaders, scolded party members and helped clear the way for CBI agents to leave.
