Madhya Pradesh Elections

The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh has asked its units across the state to hold special events and prayers on the days of Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti, which made the BJP laugh.

Celebrations are taking place in religious places like Chitrakoot and Orchha to honour Ram Navami, celebrated on March 25th each year. The earthen lamps will be turned on in every Ram temple in the state.

On the other hand, Congress has sent letters to all of its block-level units asking that programmes like reading the Ram Katha and performing the Ram Leela be held on Ram Navami.

Sundar Kand and Hanuman Chalisa should be read on Hanuman Jayanti. Chandraprabhash Shekhar, the vice-president in charge of the organisation, said this in letters he sent.

A senior politician and former chief minister, Kamal Nath, will also send a message on Ram Navmi and hold a religious event on Hanuman Jayanti in Chhindwara. This is a significant event.

Some people think this is hypocrisy from the ruling BJP because they say that Congress leaders have said that Lord Ram is just an imaginary person. Next year, there will be elections in the state to decide who will run for office.

Many people in Congress don’t like the way Congress is going to act.

Arif Masood, a Bhopal MLA, was surprised by the letter. “What was the point of our party starting this new tradition of telling all of its units to celebrate festivals of any community? I don’t understand why.”

Why don’t people get letters like this to celebrate Ramzan, Good Friday, and Easter?

By sending letters like this, Congress gives the BJP something to use against it. There are going to be many people who don’t like it when people start celebrating the festivals of one group.

He said, “This is nothing but “ache din” because so many Congress leaders are going to the temple.” Masood can’t believe that Congress leaders who used to hold “Iftar” parties are now going to temples.

They’ve been called “soft Hindutva” by people who don’t like how they’re going about it.

If Congress thinks it can win state elections using “soft Hindutva” tactics, “it is wrong.” The CPM said this before the last state elections in 2018.

Rahul Gandhi visited temples in three states to show that the Congress was more Hindu than the BJP, and the party’s manifesto in Madhya Pradesh talked about “gaushalas,” “gau mutra,” and a “Ram Van Gaman Path Yatra.”

Before electing 25 seats in the Indian parliament, the Congress was seen running a campaign called “Har Har Mahadev, Ghar Har Mahadev.” It gave out miniature statues of Lord Shiva or Shivlings to voters who would vote for by-elections.
