According to Nicholas Lennie, chief deputy of the Story County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa shooting occurred outside Cornerstone Church, a conservative Christian church east of Ames. A church performance was taking place inside.

When deputies arrived on the site, all three were dead, Lennie said, adding that he couldn’t reveal their names or the nature of their connection.
“This looks to be a one-shooter situation,” Lennie said.
