Manchester United continuing to win against revival. 

MANCHESTER: Manchester United won on Sunday and Tottenham Hotspur won in the Premier League. This is a continuation of their recovery from poor start to the season.

United beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at Old Trafford with Ralf Rangnick, the German manager, taking the first time. Fred, a Brazilian midfielder, scored the late goal.

Since the defeat at Watford (4-1), the Reds have never lost in any of the three league games.

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham won a comfortable 3-0 victory at home against bottom club Norwich City. This was the third consecutive win for the North London club under the Italian manager.

Manchester City leads the Premier League with 35 points. Second-placed Liverpool is on 34 points. Chelsea is third on 33 points. Chelsea was defeated 3-2 by West Ham on Saturday.

Spurs are fifth with 25 points, United is one place and a half behind.

United had failed to create clear opportunities against Patrick Vieira’s Palace side. 

Still, Fred won Vincente Guaita’s affection with a stunning strike from the box’s edge in the 77th minute. Mason Greenwood set him up as a substitute.

Palace should have been ahead minutes earlier, but Jordan Ayew missed the goal from point-blank distance at the back post after James Tomkins had rounded a corner.

Rangnick was pleased with the results of his Old Trafford debut, despite Palace pressure.

“We must keep clean sheets. Just one training session was enough to impress me. He said that we did much more than we expected.

Spurs won the match with a goal by Lucas Moura, and two goals from Son Heung-min and Davinson Sanchez after halftime.

Moura gave the home team a 10-minute lead with a shot outside the penalty box as impressive as the buildup.

Sanchez scored a goal from Son’s corner from close range to make it 2-0 after 67 minutes. This effectively ended any attempts by struggling Norwich to enterprising play.

Son held off the opposing defence for ten minutes to position himself and smash the ball past Tim Krul at the Norwich goal.

Patrick Bamford scored extra time to help Leeds United draw 2-2 against Brentford in the Premier League.

Shandon Baptiste and Sergi Canos had scored a 2-1 win for the Bees at Elland Road.

Ezri Konsa, a central defender, scored twice in Sunday’s late kickoff as Aston Villa beat Leicester City, 2-1. This was Steven Gerrard’s third league win.
