Manchester United reached the semi-finals of the Europa League after an early goal by Edinson Cavani and an own goal by Jesús Vallejo secured a 2-0 home win over Granada on Thursday and completed a 4- 0 and aggregate for the Spanish team.

“We are going to do it with the hope of reaching the final. If we can finish the season with a trophy, that would be great.”
Cavani scored his 50th goal in European competition with a clinical finish in the sixth minute, and United got off to a brilliant start.
Granada came to life after falling behind, and their forward Yangel Herrera headed twice inches wide as the locals seemed content to sit down.
Bruno Fernandes shot over the crossbar for United with an irregular volley for the first time in the 34th minute, and Cavani headed off the far post before Vallejo scored on the wrong side of the field in the 90th minute.

Vallejo scored on the wrong side of the field in the 90th minute when Alex Telles threw a cross from the left, and the center-back gave Silva no chance with a misdirected header that ended in the bottom corner.
Fernandes said he was confident that United, defeated by eventual champion Sevilla FC in last season’s semi-finals, could overtake Roma.
