House arrest was put on former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday, preventing her from going to the Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, where she was a mayor.
Mufti said that she planned to visit the family of a Kashmiri Pandit who militants killed in his home village on April 6.

When she found out that she would be put under house arrest, Mehbooba Mufti said on her Twitter page: “My house was searched today because I wanted to visit the family of a Kashmiri pandit who was killed in Shopian. It doesn’t want the GOI to show that it spreads false information about Kashmiri mainstream and Muslims responsible for the pandit exodus.”
Authorities say the former chief minister was not allowed to go on a trip because of security reasons.
