Penang MCA donates 20 oxygen concentrators to Bukit Mertajam Hospital.
George Town: In a bid to assist the needy, Penang MCA has donated 20 oxygen concentrators for the Bukit Mertajam Hospital.
Penang MCA chairman Datuk Tan Teik Cheng stated that they could purchase 20 oxygen concentrators for the Bukit Mertajam Hospital.
Perhaps, it will fulfill the urgent demand for medical equipment.
“The chairman of the hospital’s Board of Visitors, Datuk Kang Chun Keong, reached out to us. We took immediate steps to help the patients at the hospital,” Datuk Kang Chun Keong declared.
Tan stated that the hospital has been caring for more than 100 patients with Covid-19. Also, he is convinced the oxygen concentrators can benefit patients suffering from respiratory problems.
Additionally, Tan announced in a press release the previous Saturday (Aug 21) that he could make the oxygen concentrators secure in a concise amount of time, thanks to the public.
“Of the 20, the Yong Heng Bakti Fund Organisation donated nine, and I donated one,” Tan said. Tan
“In addition to the above, the Penang Port Commission and Penang Port Sdn Bhd each donated two oxygen concentrators to the Kepala Batas Hospital,” said the official.
Generally, an oxygen concentrator can be a vital medical device to treat decreased oxygen levels for Covid-19.
Also, other respiratory illnesses like lung cancer, asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, and flu cause the body’s oxygen levels to fall drastically.
