Rafael Nadal said he was sorry for Naomi Osaka after breaking down in tears at Indian Wells, but he thinks tennis players should learn how to deal with angry fans.
On Saturday, a heckler made Osaka cry as she lost in straight sets to Veronika Kudermetova.
She was a four-time Grand Slam champion. Last year, Osaka told the world that she had been depressed.

This was another uncomfortable moment for her. Nadal said he felt bad for Osaka, who was called “Naomi, you suck” during her loss on Saturday.
On Monday, he won his third-round match 7-5, 6-3.
There is one thing, though, that the 21-time Grand Slam champion said. He thinks that players should learn how to deal with bad situations.
These kinds of questions are hard to answer. Nadal said: “I don’t know how to answer these kinds of questions. I don’t know how to answer them.”
“The simple answer for me is that I feel bad about what happened, and that never should have happened.”
However, Rafael Nadal said that “in the real world,” people abuse each other. As bad as it is to hear that, we need to be ready for that, right? He said this. You need to be careful about what can happen when around other people, right? That’s the only thing I want for her. I hope she gets better and has a good time at school. Naomi must have had a lot of problems with her mental health because I think she must have had a lot of trouble with that.”
Isn’t it true that life doesn’t always go as planned? It’s important to be ready for bad things to happen.
On Sunday, Rafael Nadal said he agreed with Scot’s thoughts in the wake of Andy Murray’s singles defeat in Osaka.
Then Murray said, “Of course, I feel for Naomi, and I know that it must have hurt her a lot.”
I think it’s always been part of the sport, too.” Because it happens in all sports, you have to deal with it in some ways.
