Rahul Gandhi will visit Punjab to meet Sidhu Moosewala's family

On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit the Mansa district home of deceased Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala.

According to a party spokesman, Gandhi, who arrived at Chandigarh airport this morning, would pay his respects to Moosewala’s family at his hometown of Moosa in Mansa.

Several Congress leaders were present at the airport to greet Gandhi, including Punjab Congress chairman Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa, AICC in-charge of Punjab affairs Harish Chaudhary, and party leader Vijay Inder Singla.

Rahul Gandhi was out of the country at the murder and returned over the weekend.

Moosewala was the Congress contender for the Mansa constituency in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections when he was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Mansa on May 29.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Chief Minister, visited with Moosewala’s parents. They’ve also met with several senior state legislators.
