Ronaldo set to meet ten Hag to discuss his future

Due to personal matters, the 37-year-old Portuguese attacker was absent from United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. He wants to quit the club this summer.

He has returned to Manchester but has not yet trained with the team.

Ronaldo is “in our plans” and “not for sale,” according to Ten Hag.

Last season, Ronaldo joined United again after spending time with Real Madrid and Juventus.

Before the visit, Ten Hag said he talked with Ronaldo, who explained: “We chatted well. Between Cristiano and I, just. I can say with certainty that our chat was excellent.”

Ronaldo skipped the club’s return to pre-season training at Carrington, and his absence from the trip fueled rumors about his future.

Instead, he practiced at the headquarters of the Portuguese national team.

Ronaldo finished third in the Premier League and was United’s top scorer last season, but the club’s entire performance was seen as a major letdown.

Ronaldo, who has one year and one extra year remaining on his contract with United, will play in the Europa League for the first time after United’s sixth-place result in the Premier League prevented them from qualifying for the Champions League.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner does not find it very enjoyable and believes that at this point in his career, more alluring possibilities may be open to him.

The midfielder had been linked to Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich until Chelsea abandoned his pursuit earlier this month.

It is thought that Ronaldo is not seen as a player who is for sale by United.

Before playing Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday, United faced Atletico Madrid on Saturday in Norway.

On Sunday, August 7, they will host Brighton in their first match of the new campaign.
