The accident took place in the Newtown Sapoorji area of ​​Newtown due to the accumulation of this water. A woman got stuck in a road well or a sewer.

For about two and a half hours, half of her body was trapped inside the well. Finally, firefighters arrived and rescued him.

It has been raining intermittently in Kolkata and its adjacent areas since early Tuesday morning. And the many regions are submerged because of that. The main road also throbs.

Public life in Kolkata came to a standstill due to the traffic jam. The woman got stuck in the sewer.

Meanwhile, the local authority opened the manhole to drain the water. The disaster happened from there.

A Woman falls into a manhole at Newtown

The incident happened today at Sapurji colony in Newtown. As per the report, a local woman went to the market. She was returning from the water.

Also, the cap at the top of a road channel was quite unstable. Without realizing it, she stepped on the well because there was water on the road.

Immediately various parts of her body, including her legs, enter the well. Due to which she got stuck in the accumulated water.

However, she fell ill while trapped in the mud from the rainwater. Residents tried to rescue her but to no avail.

The news then went to the NKDA, which is in charge of caring for the Newtown area. His crew was unable to rescue the woman.

Then they called the NDRF and the fire department. In the end, firefighters rescued the woman after trying for about two and a half hours.

The woman was rescued and taken to Bidhanagar Subdivisional Hospital. However, the locals are angry about this incident.

According to them, if the excellent cap is broken in this way, a major accident can happen at any moment.
