According to Election Commission data, the second round of voting was completed in Uttar Pradesh on Monday (February 14) with 62.99 percent voter participation.
More than 55 seats in nine districts were voted in today’s vital UP Assembly polls. Saharanpur was the most polled, and Shahjahanpur was the lowest participation of those nine districts.

UP had recorded an attendance of 62.4 percent during the first phase of seven-phase elections on the 10th of February.
Today, an estimated 2.02 million voters voted for 586 candidates from 55 assembly constituencies across UP.
The principal candidates in the second phase of voting comprised Suresh Kumar Khanna, the Cabinet Secretary of Finance, Parliamentary Affairs, Medical Education as well as from Shahjahanpur in Bharatiya Jata Party’s (BJP) Baldev Singh Aulakh, Azam Khan (Rampur seat) from the Samajwadi Party, BJP’s Gulab Devi (Chandausi) and The SP’s Ziaur Rehman Barq (Kundarki) and many more.
In the 2017 Assembly election, of the 55 seats in the assembly put to the vote in the second phase, the BJP had won 38 seats, SP had bagged 13, and the Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had only two seats each.
Both BJP and SP leaders have made allegations of fake votes at some booths.
Akhilesh Yadav’s BJP also accused EVM alteration, but the poll officials have denied the allegations.
In addition to UP forty-member House, Goa and 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly voted on Monday. UP has left five phases that will expire on the 7th of March.
Within the states that voted today, more than 2.19 lakh voters registered as PwD, and 4.67 lakh voters over 80 years old were registered across 165 Assembly districts.
The count of votes will take place on the 10th of March.
