US declares Indian-American Puneet Talwar for Ambassador of Morocco. 

As part of his administration’s important nominations, US President Joe Biden announced Indian American Puneet Talwar for Ambassador of Morocco on Friday (March 18, 2022), according to the White House.

Candace Bond as Ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Timmy Davis as Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Nasser Paydar as Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education, Department of Education, and Michael Lombardo as Member of the National Council on the Arts, according to a White House press release.

Puneet Talwar, a Key Advisor at the State Department, has worked in the State Department, the White House, and the United States Senate in senior national security and foreign policy roles.

Talwar formerly held positions as Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director at the National Security Council, and Senior Professional Staff Member at the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Talwar has also held critical positions in the United States House of Representatives and the State Department’s Policy Planning Staff. 

In addition, he’s worked as a Senior Fellow at the Asia Society Policy Institute, a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Penn Biden Center, a Counselor for the conflict resolution NGO Inter Mediate, and a non-resident Scholar at Georgetown University’s Center for Security Studies outside of government.

Talwar graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Engineering and Columbia University with an MA in International Affairs. 

He is a Washington, DC native and a Council on Foreign Relations member.
