Wembley will host the "Finalissima"

Italy and Argentina will face off in the “Finalissima” match at Wembley on June 1, UEFA announced on Tuesday. Last year, Italy beat England on penalties to win the European Championship final.

The glamour match will bring Italy back to the spot where they won on penalties. In Rio last year, Argentina beat Brazil to win the South American title.

The “Finalissima” was first announced in September. It was confirmed in December that it would be held in London.

UEFA has now said that Wembley will host the showdown between teams worldwide.

Uefa says that fans will get to see the current champions of the world’s two best footballing continents fight for the Cup of Champions.

Twenty-nine years after the last time this legendary football match was played, it is being relaunched. This is thanks to the long-term partnership between UEFA and CONMEBOL, which will help football grow worldwide.

It will show fans that football can be a good thing in bad times and unite countries, continents, and cultures.

Because it’s been so long since Europe and South America have competed for the CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions, this will be their first chance to do so in person since 1993.

Diego Maradona led Argentina to victory over Denmark in the tournament’s last edition.
