Arsenal lost against Everton in the home Ground Yesterday.

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno’s mistake was crucial for Everton to have a 1-0 win for the visitors in the English Premier League on Friday.

Everton’s first win at Arsenal since 1996, and it sentenced the Gunners to a seventh home loss of the season, their worst record since the 1992-93 season. Everton is in 8th place, but the team was just one point behind rival Liverpool and within easy reach of the Champions League spots. Arsenal remained in ninth place. Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti said his team was still fighting for a place in the top four and said the race could go into the last game season.

Arsenal started the game brilliantly and seemed to be in control in the early stages. But Everton began to causing trouble for Arsenal, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, and Gylfi Sigurdsson all close behind in the first half.

Everton was trying to come back and take the lead when Sigurdsson’s 20-yard free-kick hit the crossbar in the 39th minute. The midfielder came close to scoring in the 47th, but Arsenal center-back Rob Holding made a crucial block to get the ball for a corner.

The hosts sported a different outlook after the break, earning a foul penalty from Dani Ceballos.

Arsenal came close to 64 when a free kick by Bukayo Saka found right-back Calum Chambers, but his shot bounced off the grass before deflecting. Ceballos tested Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford two minutes later, but the strong shot from the midfielder was parried.

Richarlison’s run behind the Arsenal defense finally broke the deadlock in 76 after being released from the left. He dodged in and made his shot towards the goal. But everyone thought Leno would block it. But, the ball slipped between his legs into the net. Richarlison ran to the flag on the corner and did a celebratory dance.

Everton defender Mason Holgate said, “The most attractive goal I have ever seen.”
