The freshly promoted Nottingham Forest team has added a Brazilian player, age 24, as their 18th summer signing.
Lodi joined Atletico in 2019, has appeared in 118 games, won La Liga in 2021, and won 27 Champions League matches for Diego Simeone’s team.
Since making his debut for Brazil in 2019, he has earned 15 caps.
After being defeated 2-0 by Tottenham on Sunday, Forest is now ranked 14th in the Premier League.
Forest manager Steve Cooper said before the game: “We want to get to a situation when the window shuts that we have strong cover for every position and a battle for every position.
“We want to provide ourselves with the most excellent chance to compete. That is the only goal we have.
“I would rather have people ask me how many players we have signed than if we haven’t signed enough because it demonstrates our desire.
We’re still in the process, but when the window closes, ideally, we’ll have enough players in our team to fill every position, ensuring that the training field is competitive.
