Man City's title race is in trouble.
Premier League leaders Manchester City are one point ahead of Liverpool after the Reds came out on top in a crucial match against Arsenal.

The Gunners were in an excellent position to finish in the top four. in the first half, they played well, but Jurgen Klopp’s quadruple-chasing team took over after the break.

Alisson made a big save from Martin Odegaard after Thiago’s backpass went wrong. Then, in the 54th minute, Diogo Jota put Liverpool ahead by beating Aaron Ramsdale at the near post.

Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino replaced jota and Luis Diaz. Firmino doubled Liverpool’s lead with a perfect flick from Andrew Robertson’s cross after the hour mark.

Liverpool has now won nine games in a row in the Premier League. Arsenal is still in fourth place, a point ahead of Manchester United but with two games in hand, but Manchester United is still ahead by a point.

Liverpool moves through the gears.

When Jota scored for the visitors, there was no way back for the Gunners. Before that, the Reds were grateful to Alisson for making a big save from Odegaard.

To that point, Arsenal was playing and with confidence. Jota, who had been the scourge of Mikel Arteta’s team in the Carabao Cup semi-final in January, again got the better of them.

Once again used his magic to get rid of Jota, and Firmino used his silky touch to slide a near-post flick past Ramsdale.

Arsenal was down, and Liverpool moved even closer to Manchester City, which was held to a draw by Crystal Palace on Monday in the capital city of the United Kingdom.

There’s still a lot to like about Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions, but the margin is minimal, and this was another difficult obstacle that Liverpool overcame.
