Street Fighter 6 announces Guile: Street Fighter 6 now has an officially confirmed character, as unveiled during Sony’s State of Play broadcast on June 2nd. Guile, who first appeared in Street Fighter 2 in 1991, will know to those following the game from the beginning. In the trailer below, you can see him in action.

Guile was announced today during the Summer Game Fest Showcase, along with a fresh new trailer for the legendary blond-haired United States Air Force officer. His Sonic Boom projectile and Flash Kick seen in the gameplay trailer.

His behavior is consistent with what we’ve seen from him previously, indicating that he’s still a zoning character. Slow, far-reaching assaults and missiles use to keep the distance between a player and their opponent manageable.

Along with his tried-and-true maneuvers, Capcom promises to throw in some new ones.
For those keeping track, Street Fighter 6 takes place after the Street Fighter 3 series.

After Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter 5 took a step back in history, the forthcoming fighter would be the most current iteration chronologically.

After the previous mainline entry remained a PS4 and PC exclusive, Street Fighter 6 marks the franchise’s return to Xbox. Guile joins a cast of characters that includes both old favorites and newbies.
