On Friday, Tottenham acquired their fifth player of the open market when Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet signed temporarily. The London club has given Antonio Conte its full support after the Italian was awarded Champions League eligibility for the next season.
Lenglet will be one of many newcomers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, including Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, and Fraser Forster.
Tottenham stated it was “delighted to announce the acquisition of Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan from Barcelona.”
The international from France moved to Barcelona from Sevilla in 2018 for $35 million and won La Liga in his first campaign.

But after a string of misstep-filled games at the Camp Nou last season, he fell down the pecking order.
Lenglet will provide Conte’s choices at centre-back more depth, especially on the left side of his preferred back three.
